Sojourner Truth, and the 1913 first journey of Spirit of 1776 wagon !

SOJOURNER TRUTH“s life featured in “An Unfinished Revolution” by Marguerite Kearns. The library at SUNY New Paltz is named after Sojourner Truth as well.

There are two statues of Sojourner Truth in Ulster County of the Hudson Valley of New York State. One is of her as a child, dedicated in 2013, located in Port Ewen. The other is a seven foot statue close to the Walkway Over the Hudson River dedicated in 2020.

The trip that launched the more than 100 year history of the Spirit of 1776 suffrage wagon. Celebrate August 26th, Women’s Equality Day!
